Dates below are tentative and are subject to change based on weather and/or school activities. Please listen to announcements and check Remind for any changes.
GRADUATION DATES AND TIMES
The 2024 Jeff Davis High School Graduation Ceremony will be held at the Jeff Davis High School Football Stadium on Friday, May 17, 2024, at 7:30 p.m. If weather conditions do not permit, alternate times are listed below. The ceremony will be held at the first time listed that has permissible weather conditions. Seniors and their families are encouraged to not make plans for May 17-19 in order to be prepared to have the ceremony at an alternate time.
If raining at 3 p.m. on Sunday, May 19, 2024, graduation will be held in the Jeff Davis High School gymnasium. Seniors will be given tickets. Admission will be by ticket only. This applies ONLY to a graduation ceremony that is held in the gym. This will occur ONLY if weather conditions prohibit having the graduation ceremony outside at the football field at the times listed for Friday, May 17; Saturday, May 18; and Sunday, May 19.
GRADUATION DRESS - Please adhere to the dress code listed below when purchasing your graduation attire. All graduates wear cap and gown. Girls wear dark or nude colored dress shoes (no flip flops) and dress or dress pants in solid khaki. Boys wear white or light blue dress shirt with collar (tie recommended), dress pants in solid khaki (no jeans), dark shoes (no tennis shoes or flip flops), and socks. Ordering a cap and gown is mandatory due to a color change with company. No cords can be worn except honor graduate cords. No stoles can be worn except for ones awarded from BETA club. Graduation cap cannot be decorated. If the cap is decorated, it will be confiscated. Nothing should be added to cap and gown or tassel.
SENIORS OWING MONEY
All money owed to the school should be paid. Seniors owing money will be allowed to go through graduation, but will not be issued their diploma until all debts are paid. Please pay the fine to Myra Rentz in the front office.
Important Dates
- Students submitted graduation contracts last semester signing off on graduation rules and expectations.
- Senior grades due for ranking purposes - Friday, March 29
- Senior Meeting - Friday, April 26 at 9:15 in auditorium
- Valedictorian, Salutatorian, and honor graduate pictures will be taken at this meeting.
- Senior letters due - Friday, May 10 https://forms.gle/Vbn69P7H2vHiaihx8
- Honor’s Night - Tuesday, May 14 at 6:30 p.m. at the high school gymnasium
- Senior group picture will be taken at this event.
- Finals/Last day of school for seniors - Wednesday, May 15
- Senior Breakfast, Next Step Ceremony, Parade of Schools, and Senior letter celebration - Thursday, May 16 at 7:30 in cafeteria/auditorium
- Seniors are to leave campus after the senior letter celebration.
- All devices returned, books returned, and bills should be paid by this date.
- Graduation practice - Friday, May 17 at 7:50 a.m. at the football field
- Seniors are not to be on campus May 17 and the last week of school (May 20-22).
