Kay Stafford
ABOUT ME...

Hi!
I'm Kay Stafford, and I teach ELA at Jeff Davis High School. I am married to Keith Stafford, who teaches science at Jeff Davis Middle School. I have two children and three grandchildren, but together, we have a total of four children and eight grandchildren! All of our children are gown and on their own, so now we share our home with seven much-loved canine furbabies, four of which are doodles, as well as our winged critter, Max, the sun conure. On the weekends, weather permitting, we love to hop on our Harley and cruise down A1A. We also love to go north and experience the beauty of the mountains. We are firm believers that wind therapy is good for the soul! In addition, we are proud members of Restoration Church here in Hazlehurst, where we serve as Connectors.

I have been teaching for 29 years, all of them right here in Jeff Davis County. I started out teaching at the elementary level, then middle grades, and finally high school, which is where I found my passion and what I believe is my true calling. I primarily teach American Literature, Dramatic Writing, and Advanced Composition, all of which I absolutely love! My goal is not only to share my passion of literature and writing with my students and hopefully ignite that same passion in some of them, but also to be a positive role model for them in their quest to become confident, productive members of society, regardless of where they ultimately choose to plant themselves.  Even though education and the world in which we live has changed over the years, my goal has always remained the same.
