Greg Lovett, School Counselor
My name is Greg Lovett and I am married to Cheryl Lovett, a Jeff Davis High Teacher. We have two children and four grandchildren. I graduated from Mercer University in 1987 with a Bachelor's of Science Degree. Later in 2004, I earned my Master's Degree in Education with a concentration in Counseling and Psychology. After working for many years with the Georgia Department of Juvenile Justice as a Case Manager and later as a Reentry Specialist, I turned my focus on Education out of my desire to help students reach their potential and achieve their educational goals. I completed a Georgia Teacher Preparation Program and earned my teaching certificate in the area of Special Education.
I Co-Taught in the Science Department at Jeff Davis High for three years with whom I consider the Best of the Best Science Teachers in Georgia. During this same period, I managed a SPED Caseload under great leadership which led me to love the work that I had chosen to pursue. The experience was everything I had hoped it would be and very rewarding.
Currently, I am a School Counselor at Jeff Davis High and thoroughly enjoy the opportunity bestowed upon me by Jeff Davis County School System. I get work each day with a great Team of School Leaders, Counseling Staff, Teachers, and Support Staff, helping students each day educationally, socially, and emotionally as we help prepare them for life to be productive citizens.
