Dr. Meg Wood, Speech-Language Pathologist
Welcome to my page! My name is Meg Wood and I am a speech-language pathologist for Jeff Davis County Schools. I am housed at the high school, but also work at the middle school as well serving at the local day cares. I am in my 14th year as working as an SLP. I worked at Meadows Memorial Hospital for my first eight years and transferred to Jeff Davis County Schools in 2016. I graduated from Pierce County High School in 2002. I obtained my Bachelor's of Science in Education from the University of Georgia in 2006 and my Master's degree in Communication Sciences from Valdosta State University in 2007. I recently completed my clinical doctorate (Spring 2021) in Speech-Language Pathology from Valdosta State as well. I love being able to help others communicate and I will always be a dawg fan!
I am married to Will Wood, who is also a teacher and coach at Jeff Davis Middle School. We have been married for fifteen years and have two dogs, Sammie and Bo. Will is the Varsity Girls' Cross Country coach and I serve as the assistant coach. When we are not in cross country season, we love to travel the world.
I have one brother, Jonathan, who is a doctor. He and his wife Yva are expecting their first child in October. Coach Wood has one sister, Kellie, a nurse here at the health department. Her and her husband, Dr. Kyle Varnadoe, have one daughter named Charlee Kate. We love being Uncle Will and Aunt Meg!
