welcome Jeff Davis High School I'm Greer Smith the principal here my pleasure to have you and your attention to say I'm really glad to see you coming back to school August 20th is our start date with you're going to be in the building with us where they're going to be online with us just excited to have you back it's been awhile we've been missing you guys that was really you who are new to our district or no to ask Jeff Davis High School has 850 student for the round 90 staff members the students are Second To None the staff a second to none you won't find anyone better in the district or surrounding area Jeff Davis High School is the flagship for our community and I'm excited the things that we have going on this year and the challenges that we're going to face meet and defeat together guys just so you know when you come into the building this year is going to look a little different we've been having some extensive Renovations throughout the summer the entire who was gutted and put back together it looks tremendous so thankful for our board members and a superintendent for allowing us to have these Renovations that were sorely needed soon as I know you're going to be proud of the school that she got now that it is tremendous what is occur I parents want to speak briefly about safety information for those have chosen to come back to a traditional school thank you so much for trusting us with the safety of your children and just to assure you were going to be doing everything in our power to keep your kids safe we will be doing daily temperature checks from Austin is the entering the building bus riders will have their temperatures check before they get on the bus will have a special door for those children to come into when they get here on the bus at that separate from car rider said they don't mix and Mingle we will also have additional drop off points this year that we haven't had in the past for car riders we will get your temperature checked before you get out the car and we'll send out a map a little later to give you some more details about that but we will be doing everything and I are our power to make sure that you are safe as a student in the past you have a little bit of a sound mind at home knowing that your kids are coming here and we've got their safety in mind when you talk about Jeff Davis High the one thing I want you to get out of this is that we are one family we are one group we are one team and that includes everybody parents teachers staff students every the we do is designed around our community to make our community a better place to make our kids more successful and provide an educational opportunity that is second-to-none we appreciate your support we appreciate you trusting your kids with us once again my door is always open if you have any questions don't hesitate to call the reach out to come by and see us throughout the year if you're looking for information about Jeff Davis High School Facebook is the place to go to the five most of our updated information we will use other avenues but the primary source of information will be our Facebook page we love you still go jackets
